Because this is my story about finding good plans for building storage sheds. And my continued search for a good source of shed building plans that had some good choices of shed designs, and were EXTREMELY easy to follow. Yet didn’t look homemade when they were done. I’ll tell you what didn’t work, and the one product that I found that gave me what I wanted.
Here’s what I was looking for. I really did want something easy and not too complicated to follow. I don’t have too much building experience, so it had to be easy to follow, and I wanted to use tools that were readily available, hopefully that I already had.
I also wanted a lot of designs to choose from. So many storage building plans packages come with just a few basic designs in them, and they were never what I wanted. Plus the fact that I had a limited amount of time, so I needed something that I could build pretty quickly.
And there’s one last thing that I’ll admit to. I really (secretly) wanted to impress my friends and family with the fact that I had really built this storage building. So I wanted it to look great, like it wasn’t homemade.
So I looked all over the internet, and in those books that you find at Home Depot or Lowe’s. I found some really cute designs of buildings, but hard-to-follow plans. On the internet, there’s so many choices that it was hard to figure out which one might work for me.
But finally I hit on the right product for me. So I thought I’d pass it along to you! I couldn’t believe how well it worked and how easy it was to follow. It’s called “My Shed Plans”. If I have to say one thing negative about this product, it’s that it has too many choices!
There’s 12,000 plans included for a very affordable price. Thankfully, not all the plans were for wood or storage sheds. Besides storage building plans there were plans for loads of backyard projects like picnic tables, chicken sheds, dog houses, cabins, arbors, etc. And I also found out – it’s not just for beginners, it’s for all skill levels, too.
